Job position: Senior Annuity Specialist

Matthew came to Retirement Line for a new challenge after enjoying success in the automotive industry. Since then, he has established himself as a stalwart of our Guidance Team, providing hundreds of customers with assistance in choosing and setting up their annuity income. His experience and achievements in the role are complemented by his membership of the Institute of Customer Service.

When asked what he loves about his work, Matthew says it’s all about helping people to understand a potentially complex subject. He takes pride in providing an empathetic, knowledgeable and supportive service. The best words he hears are “I wish I’d spoken to you sooner” from people who had previously been confused about their annuity options. He also loves the variety in his role and says: “Everyone’s circumstances are different and no two conversations are the same.”

Matthew is very active away from work, listing travelling, gym workouts, family time and walks with his pet bulldog as his favourite activities. He also often takes part in fundraising for cancer charities, with a half marathon and ‘white collar boxing’ event behind him and even more adventurous challenges ahead.
