Annuity Process

A first class annuity service for you and your clients

When it comes to helping your clients make the right annuity choice, Retirement Line makes life easy for you and your annuity clients. It’s why nearly 2,000 IFAs are already registered with Retirement Line, and why we can offer a first class annuity service to you and to your clients. Here’s how it works:

Your introduction

You refer your annuity clients to Retirement Line giving us their names, dates of birth, pension details and basic contact information. This can be done via your secure login to the Retirement Line website, by email or by telephone. Of course, you retain client ownership throughout.

Personal annuity consultant for your client

Your annuity clients are allocated their own Annuity Specialist. They will contact your client to obtain and explain all relevant pension and annuity information and, importantly, check their existing pensions for any hidden benefits or penalties. They will also obtain details of any medical conditions or lifestyle habits that could qualify them for an enhanced annuity.

Instant annuity quote

We enter all information directly into our own annuity quoting system and, while your client is still on the telephone, and within seconds of inputting the information through our own XML links with the annuity providers, we are able to provide guaranteed annuity quotations from the UK's leading annuity providers.

Helpful explanations

All annuity results are fully explained and then emailed or posted to your clients, together with a helpful annuity brochure explaining the different types of annuities and options available. We do not offer advice, we provide detailed annuity information for them to make their own informed annuity choice.

Pre-populated annuity application form

Once your client has made their choice of annuity and options, we send them a pre-populated annuity application form by email or post. All they have to do is check, sign and return this to us, FREEPOST. It can be back in our hands within 24 hours if speed is of the essence.

Smooth pension transfer

When we receive the returned application form, a client relationship consultant from our annuity administration team is allocated to your client. They then handle all aspects of the transfer of pension funds between the ceding scheme(s) and the annuity provider until the annuity purchase is complete. During this time, they will give your clients weekly annuity updates on progress and will be on hand to answer any questions your clients may have.

Introducer Fees are paid

Once the annuity purchase is complete, Retirement Line pays you an attractive share of commission as an Introducer Fee. Please see our Commission page.
