The pensions industry came together for two prestigious awards ceremonies this summer, with UK and European pensions awards held over the last two months.
On 6 June, the UK Pension Awards 2024 were held in London. Hosted by Paul Sinha, comedian and star of ITV’s ‘The Chase’, the event was organised by Professional Pensions. The awards featured over 30 categories, including for the industry’s best advisers, pension schemes and investment managers.
Standard Life featured well in categories for defined contribution (DC) pension scheme providers. They came out winners in the ‘DC Pension Provider of the Year’. They also picked up ‘highly commended’ awards in the ‘DC Master Trust of the Year’ and ‘DC Innovation of the Year’ categories. They also won the ‘Retirement Innovation of the Year’ award.
Scottish Widows were another household name going home with awards under their belt. They won in the ‘DC Master Trust of the Year’ and ‘Pensions Communications Initiative of the Year’ categories.
Coinciding with the general election on 4 July, the European Pensions Awards 2024 were held in London by European Pensions. Among the winners familiar to UK consumers were Legal & General, who picked up awards for investment management and innovation in pensions technology. Meanwhile, Scottish Widows picked up an award for Marketing Campaign of the Year.
Retirement Line would like to extend our congratulations to all the award winners. The pensions awards circuit now takes a break until the Women in Pensions Awards 2024, being held in London this November.
